bosko, Depends on your medications! If you're a neurosurgeon in real life, then you've got the hands to make the repair(s). Otherwise, have the job done professionally, or junk it/them. Unwind them only if there are no cats in the room! Don't ask me how I know. ;D Oh, and to the forums. sumgai

sumgai,
Cats, I love it.
I knew a guy back in the early 70's that cobbled a (simple) computer together by connecting some sundry 12 bit logic modules w/ bunches of clip leads across a workbench.
He had a cat.....
It still worked afterwards, but was left on the floor in a now always locked room!

hi Bosko,
if you are lucky, the wire that broke is the one that is on the outside of the wind. that would be possible to fix.
before you solder that enamel coated wire, you'll need to strip the enamel off of the portion that is to be soldered. (and ONLY that portion)
unless someone else has a better suggestion, i'd use acetone (old-fashioned nail polish remover)
repeated wetting and wiping will remove the enamel.
but be careful, the wire is thin and breaks easily. (i guess you know this already!)
i've actually done a bit of this kind of "microsurgery" before, and it is a bit tedious.
also, don't get the acetone on your guitar's finish. or on the winding that is still on the coil.
