So I have decided to pick up the guitar again and start playing and taking lessons. Its been 7 years or so. I have an older Yamaha strat copy and the selector switch is bad. Also I have a SD Hotrails in the bridge from my heavier music days. I am looking for more of a blues/rock unique sound. I am 90% convinced to go with a Rio Grande Muy Macho setup and figured that since I need to replace some wiring I might as well try the BluesKaster kit from Torres. Anyone have any experience with the pu's or the BK kit? Also, I am going to shield my guitar following the instructions on GuitarNuts. Is it worth the $35 to have Torres shield the Rio's? My Yamaha strat does not have the pickguard. My electronics are accessed from the back of the guitar. Thanks in advance for your help.
Oh and my guitar currently only has 1 volume and 1 tone pot so I will have to drill a hole for the second tone pot that comes with the kit. Any words of wisdom? I am fairly handy and have built things like a custom entertainment center from scratch so I dont think drilling 1 hole should be too difficult right?

gator,
Save the drilling, and purchase a dual-gang (or concentric) pot to use for both tone functions. If you later decide to reverse the process, you won't have to fill the hole, or find something else to put in its place.
