I want something that sounds full but shows the clarity of maple. Right now, the pickups are all midrange. No highs or lows. Dull and lifeless!

I have been very pleased with the pups in my maple neck strat. I installed a duncan JB jr humbucker in the bridge...Easy fit, sings like a bird, and looks "stock." I have installed both lace sensors and Duncan duckbuckers in the mid/neck positions. I ended up keeping the duckbucker in the mid position, and the lace sensor (gold) in the neck. The lace in the neck gives me a great warm blues tone.

Hi,Maple is the most bright and clean wood for acoustic and electric instruments.Your dull acoustic phenomeno has to do with :
1. Nothern Ash bodies are dull. 2. Paint of the neck can create this or 3. Paint of the body which is rare.
Anyway if you want you HAVE TO TRY GFS pickups !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW WOW WOW

I have Rio Grande's and love them. I went with the Muy Macho set. I would give them a ring and talk to them about your setup and what you want.

I have a 90s Fender Tele thinline with maple neck. I switched out the stock for Kinmans, Cant remember which ones but they are wonderful. Full bright, they woke up a guitar that was just flat and blah.
