ive had the pickups a while now i do say they are awesome pickups. the bridge is twangy but not too twangy and the neck is just mellow and clear just like a tele neck should be.
i was just wondering has anyone else here used them. personaly i love them but i would like to know what others think.

I've had these for a little while too- the neck pickup is absolutely perfect in my opinion, bright, sweet and clear, and rocking up nicely under distortion too. I haven't had the chance to really listen to the bridge unit, as it has developed a microphony problem which I have yet to fix, but before that I found it was acually a touch restrained compared to another Fender 'vintage' model (from an new Thinline Tele) but then again, that had vintage staggered poles and was on a guitar with a gloss maple neck, so that would also affect the way it behaved. I really must get that sorted, although the neck unit is so good, and versatile, that I barely need another Fender style sound! How did you find the mixed sound though??? I found it to be a little thin compared to many Teles I've played.

I just though that I'd revisit this one, as I have finally got a replacement pickup and wired it in. The bridge unit is pretty darn good for general use actually- 'Twangy' really does sum it up, as I wouldn't really use 'bright' or 'sharp' to describe it in the usual guitar sense. It has many of the positive Tele hallmarks but without some of the problems, namely a harsh treble peak and insufficient lows to cover the average guitar part, along with a nasty squeal (although I haven't the chance to stand in front of a vey loud amp , and may not for some time, having just hired a guitarist to record a band 'live'! ) It keeps a nice vintage vibe by retaining some microphony, which may of course be down to the bridge but is all part of the classic Tele vibe, although the unit I had before had a serious problem with it. None of that here, instead it adds a bit of that edginess, without ridiculous handling noise, at least at the volumes I play at these days... so perhaps that observation doesn't count coming from me. I will say though, that the mixed position is far more what I was hoping with the new pickup in it. To sum up, the bridge pickup has a good dose of vintage twang to it, but with some of the rougher edges taken off- this could be good or bad, depending on what you need it for. It makes the bridge position much more versatile without losing a lot of classic 'Teleness', but for really raw, ol' time sounds there is a slightly restricted element to the tone. As we guitar lovers all know, the roughest bits are sometimes the best...
