Hi all!...I need some input. I have average size hands. My Stratocaster has a 70's "U" shaped neck. Ill admit that sometimes its like playing a baseball bat its so thick. I do Love the guitar though. What is a good neck for guys with average hand size? soft V..hard V..Oval? Im thinking of Strats by the way.

I've not had a wide variety of experience with different necks, one feels the same as the next to me... or I just force my hand to adapt. But all the advice I've ever read on the subject says to shop around; play and measure lots of different necks. Warmoth is an example of a company that will make a neck in any shape and size you can imagine, so if you play around, measure, and ask, you'll get some numbers in your head that you like...

IT's really not about the size of your hand, it's just what's the most comfortable, I've got small hands and prefer big fat necks, so there's really no relation. Just take a trip to guitar center and try a bunch out, and see what you like best. The buy a neck close to that from Warmoth or USSAG.
