I just took my strat in to have it re-fretted. For a set of 6105's plus set up itll be about $350Cdn...My word thats expensive. Before I left the music shop I spotted a Malmsteen Strat. I took it down and within 5 mins I loved it! Is this fate? I just hope my new frets will feel better under my hands, and I wont be tempted to put more money into Mr. Malmsteen and Fenders pockets. Honestly..Check out a scalloped fretboard if you never have..its a tad getting used too but its great once you have your groove.

Its great in theory Runewalker, but one small mistake and my neck is useless. I leave those types of operations to the pros.

Useless? I wouldn't go that far. The only thing I can see happening is you accidentally go too deep. You will notice, because that lovely little side marker will now be a lovely little fretboard marker as well! Which I suppose would make it "useless" if you're one to quibble over details... I say it adds character.

scalloping a fretboard is on my to do list ... i want a Malmsteen Strat , but not for the outrageous prices ... i think a Mighty Mite neck that i scallop will work nicely
