About six months ago a friend of mine approached me about a guitar his friend was selling. He told me that it was a Jackson Flying-V. I knew Jackson made V style guitars but he was actually talking about the Jackson Randy Rhoads. I bought it after a short negotiation session. It cost me $250 w/ case. Its a dark, dark blue Jackson JRR-94 Concept Edition with black hardware.
It's an awesome guitar. It fits right in with my kind of music (metal). It sounds great both distorted and clean. Also it's great to play for long periods of time because its so light. I also have decreased fatigue because the neck is smaller than many other guitars. I really get into the feel of the music with this guitar, it's one of those "Dont mess with me" guitars.
Pros: Awesome looks. Extremely light weight (it feels like I'm holding a baseball bat) Great sound (Two jackson humbuckers) No hum (makes sense) Smaller neck (it's a "Speed Neck") Can be played strapless (a picture coming later will explain) Pretty good sustain
Cons: Very hard to play while sitting down. Only one tone control (I prefer the LP style) No guitar bags available for it Requires a special case No tremolo (could be a pro aswell) Not alot of room for expansion
In all I'd give this guitar an 8 or 9. It's no Les Paul but it would truely make Randy Rhoads proud.
Photos will come in a bit.
In the words of unklmickey "playing it while sitting down is a freakin' joke." Its true, so true. The BA factor for this guitar makes it near impossible to sit down while playing it.

Hey Vonfrenchie...
I too had a Jackson RR Pro...
I still have the pups from it ( I put EMG's 81/85 into her ) I liked and disliked most of the same things as you, and I must say it sounded like a Les Paul on steroids! Mine had the neck thru body and a Floyd Rose and was all black...shark fin inlays were cool as well!
I sold it for $400 CDN a few years back. I miss it from time to time because ill tell you my friend when I plugged in....well lets just say I got attention!....very powerful.

Yeah. The guy I bought this off of has three other Jacksons two of which have sharkfin inlays and two have Floyds. Despite his love of the fin inlays and vibratos I do not have either . My guitar has the standard pearl dot inlays on a rosewood fretboard (which I wish was ebony). Despite my grumbles over this guitar I would not sell it for less than I bought it for. PS You Canadians and your monetary units. $400 Canadian is around $360 US which just so happens to be 36 times the amount of money I currently hold in my wallet.

vonFrenchie,
just give it a few years.
then $400 CDN will be exactly equal to the amount you have in your wallet right now.
LSH...

After looking through my camera batteries to find a charged one I finally took pictures. You probably cant tell but in the top left hand corner my hand is in the picture. I am holding the guitar by one of its "fins". I felt no rush to set it down and did not feel as though it would fall. Its just that light. This kinda brings out the difference. The body is kind of a sparkly or metallic blue and all the hardware is black. And looking at these make me thing of something else I don't like about this guitar. ITS SO HARD TO CLEAN. To clean by the triangular piece after the bridge is so hard to do unless I unstring the guitar which is inconvenient.
