Anyone have anything to say about the Ovation Breadwinner/Deacons?
Played one the other day. Wow. Awesome sound in my opinion.

batty, How long has it been, something like 51 weeks, eh? Yeah, I've played both of them, but never owned 'em. IIRC, they're active (powered pre-amp), I think they have stereo outputs, and they sure looked different from the average axe of the day! Played buttery smooth, and didn't sound bad at all. Fellow bandmate had a Deacon, which was the deluxe version of the Breadwinner. IMO, they didn't get the marketing exposure and big-name endorsements that they deserved, they were good guitars for the money. sumgai

A guy I work with has a Deacon. His has boost/cut controls for treble and b a s s, a mini toggle that doesn't do anything anymore, and the weirdest fixed bridge I ever saw (think floyd rose meets micro tilt). It still plays really nice and weighs about the same as a Les Paul.
