I have an Ibanez AXR300CRS guitar and I put seymour duncan SH-1 59 in it. Is there any advantage to put a bone nut on it over the plastic one thats on it. Also will be up grading to Sperzel tuners. Thanks

bone is much harder so it wont wear nearly as fast. it is slick, so you will have a less chance of having a problem like jamie(http://guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=repair&action=display&thread=1185780981).
it will be less likely to break/crack and imho it will be much easer to file nut slots...

Also, it will increase the tone, giving a bit more depth. I wouldn't recommend it if it's going on a guitar with a trem. (The bone will be eaten away.)

Mine has a hardtail bridge no tremelo. I don't use tremelos even on my strat I have it blocked.

indeed. my girlfriends brother has a 6 string bass w/ a brass nut. oh, how much fun.

Hmmm, on the Ibanez then, I would go for the brass. I did that on a Samick 335 clone, and the results were most really striking.

Does the brass nut make it sound I guess you would say a metalish sound.
