Hey guys, I'm a n00b, and I was just wondering if it's abnormal if the lock screws on Fender/Schaller locking tuners don't screw in straight. I just noticed this as I was changing strings. It only happens with the lower tuners due to (I'm assuming) the thicker string gauges. Again, I've never noticed this before, so maybe the tuners "normalize" as the string gets compressed??? I'm just grasping at straws here... any help wound be appreciated.

matt, I've got the same tuners, and as far as I can tell (with my tired old eyes), the screws are always straight, with or without any string tension. (I loosened up the low E all the way to slack, just to check for my answer here.) The is a mechanical thing here, the screw is either going into the threads straight, or it's not. If it's cocked, then you may have an R 'n' R job coming up RSN. (Remove and replace, real soon now.) HTH sumgai
