I recently picked up a '97 fender california fat telecaster in black. Humbucker in the neck position, single coil in the bridge position, 5 way switch. I'm not familiar with these models outside of the fact that it's a US tele'. I must say, it's a great guitar. Any add'l info. would be greatly appreciated (switch positions 2 & 4, the pickup models, etc...). Thanks

Hi califattele, and welcome to GNutz! Pretty much all that info is on the Fender Support Website. The US Fat Tele is the last one listed. It has the parts layout, parts list, wiring diagram, and switching diagram all right there. Have lots of TeleFun!

Just noted that the date on that document was in 00 and I have a 97, I guess they were testing the waters so to speak (I'm sure it still applies). Well, I can tell 'ya, if you get a chance, get one these! Thanks again!

Checked out MF. They have a '72 special reissue for 700, i gave 7. They also have an Albert Collins for 2K. I'll take what I got, I don't feel ripped off, this thing rips. Oh yeah, it's got a neck that looks 1/4 cut (EJ Strats (without the extra poly)). Probably not but, wow this is a great guitar!
