I ran across Michael Kelly guitars. I was wondering if anyone has played one and what their opinion might be... Michael Kelly Guitars

I have the Hybrid by Michael Kelly. Semi hollow mahogany back, flame maple top. Single hum in the mid position and a piezo in the bridge. My only real complaint is the lack of a tone control, and a crappy plastic nut.
Playability is superb. Overall quality is great, and they have wonderful customer support. But if it feels good to your hands, that's the true selling point.

I have played a few Micheal Kelly guitars. I can say that I don't care much for the acoustic guitar I played. It seemed as though Mr. Kelly had payed too much attention to aesthetics and too little to tone. The electrics are better, but those are more easily constructed. I wouldn't pay much more than $500 for one though.

Well, they do cost 500$. I just bought a Patriot Glory, and I can say full hearted that it ecceeds my expectations. It's simply a great guitar, and it's greater for the money. I was looking for a cheaper Les Paul style guitar, and tried some epihpones in the stores. The Michael Kelly Patriot is closer to Gibson les pauls than to Epiphones in build quality, and the Rockfield pickups are just great. I don't know how much you should pay for them, but for 500$ they deliver more than epi les paul or other copies, plus they have a unique character and don't feel like a copy.
