Hey guys... I hope everyones well? Ive been busy and hope to catch up here at GN2. I bought myself a nice Cherryburst Les Paul. I must say im in love. It is so much nicer then the one I bought in 91. Two piece flame maple top. Burstbucker Pro pups, 60's slim taper neck. It feels great in my hands. Very 70's rock sound. I was playing a little "Schools out" and it shook the house! I think I had better take it easy on buying new gear for a bit. Im like a big kid I suppose...but hey!...arent we all here at GN2? Heres a snap of my war chest.

I've been looking at the Route 66- they're just bringing out a MKII version, (and I suppose a full discussion belongs in another thread) but how does it do for you?

Guys... ChrisK/ The 50w Marshall is plenty of "pop" for me. I was thinking of maybe getting one more for a different sound then the Marshall, but im on the fence. Those Orange amps are looking sweet, but I feel they are in the same vein as the Marshall. A nice Fender amp maybe. To compliment my Fenders better. You know, more bluesy. I just spent a lot of Money on the Gibson so I need a break in toy spending.
clr...Im from Toronto, so I got a few things at Steves Music. The bulk though are from Long & Mcquade, Burlington. Mountain Music in Hamilton as well. The red Washburn was a gift from my g/f a few years back. Between you and me....It only sonds good plugged in ( Its a semi acoustic )....with a little chorus, and reverb its a sweet sounding guitar. Unplugged....not so good. It was a gift from the heart so I love it very much. I even had her name put on the truss rod cover....Im a wuss I know! ;D
andy...My Route 66 is great. Its like two pedals in one. I have the compression for rounding out my sound, and the Overdrive gives me that soar I need for solos...or just wailing! It has the same circuts as the old Ibanez Tube screamers. You say they have a new version coming out?....Ill have to give her a look-see.

And the most a girl ever gave me guitar wise was a custom pick with our initials on it it was really sweet, but me being a guitarist, I lost it.

clr... Yes, Steves does charge more in my opinion. L&M have the buying power, so they tend to give you the best deals. Steves is getting a little run down. The place need to freshen up a tad. Im not a big fan anymore as I once was. I dont want to cross a line here, but some of those so called "salesmen" at Steves look like they could use a bath...Its like im being sold a guitar by a homeless person *not that theres anything wrong with being homeless* L&M appear to be much more professional, and they have always been great to me.
btw...In case you fellas didnt notice. I blued out the background of the picture. I have horrid 70's wood panel in my basement. I wanted the letters to stand out so I blued the background in. I can show you the diff if requested, but I warn you...it isnt pretty! Its not beat up or anything and still looks good, but its so blah!!

You say they have a new version coming out?....Ill have to give her a look-see. Yeah, I think it is a very similar pedal, just in a smaller case and with new switches. I'm not sure about the look of them, but when it comes to switches I guess it's all in the way they feel, really. The new range is at www.visualsound.net/v2.htm if you fancy a look.

You spurred me on deep, I finally got around to making a pic of my stuff as well (including my new LP toy too). If anyone is interested, you can see a zoomable version of this shot and my mediocre Telecaster mod on my public Google photo page. This is just my guitar stuff, I'd have to set up another for Bass/Keyboard/recording stuff .
