When I know have the button in when in the neck position it plays the neck and bridge pickup together. Now it doesn't play the neck it sounds like on the bridge working. When I turn the tone control for the middle pickup it controls the tone as does the one for the neck Didn't do this before. Think it may be the button switch. Any Ideas. Also when I have the button out to play normal in the neck the sound is weak but if I turn the tone knob for the middle pickup it gets louder. Really some strange things happening. Thanks for any suggestions.

So no broken wires or anything. Everything looked good. Even used a mag glass. When I tap on pickups bridge is very weak and no mods Hope I did this right Button out N 291.7------N and M 10.04----M 10.04-----M and B 5.05 --- B 9.96
Button In ------------9.8 ------ 5.6 ------ 10.04 -------5.05 --------- 9.96
Neck button out is real high on neck position all the rest seem ok
N = neck N and M= nec and middle M=middle M and B= Middle and bridge B=bridge

bw, Either your Neck pickup has gone South, or the switching for that pickup has gone on strike. To make sure which one's the culprit, you'll need to disconnect one of the two Neck pup leads, then measure across them. If the reading is close to the others, and not 291.7KΩ, then your pickup is fine, and the switch will become your next target of inspection. If it is still way up there, then you need to make some decisions, such as repair or replace....... HTH sumgai

I agree with sum gai.
I did expect that the neck position with button in would have read the same as the bridge pickup or 9.96K.
Your volume pot is 291.7K
Your bridge pickup is 10.312K Your middle pickup is 10.398K Your neck pickup (or wiring/switch) is GeFooey.

Well dropped it off today at the techs. I think he thinks it is the pickup. If so he will have to order one fron fender. Hope it doesn't take long if that is the case.

Well got a call today from the tech. It is the pickup he said that is the second one in 6 months he has had to replace on a Deluxe players Strat. Fender has it in stock and will send it right out.

BW- Maybe you should repost this into the thread directly below it on the list, the one entitled "Recent Fender Quality?".
