so i was looking at the prices of all tube heads the other day, and i was looking at the pignose G40V, and noticed it would make a decent, compact, all tube one channel head. anyone agree?
it drives a cab absolutely great. i'm thinking that i may buy one and modify the cab and cut the speaker part of it off and use the grille cloth to cover part of the front, kinda like a marshall that would have cloth on the front. anyone else think this is a good idea? $320 bones for a pretty decent tube head. and the G40V already drives a 412 cab absolutely awesome.

i own a G40V and hav used it on a 4 x 12 cab with greenbacks and a 2 x 12 with older greenbacks. Both cabs are closed back. It sounds great. A wall of sound, I prefer the 4 x 12, lots of bottom end. I also recomend trying Yellowjackets. It allows the amp to run EL84 tubes. You lose some bottom end but the mids are wonderful.
