as you can tell from the title i have a marshall mg10cd I was wondering if it is normal for the amp to buzz when a certain note is hit because mine buzzes when i hit the "G" note im thinking that the speaker might need to be replaced i cant remember if it always did that but i noticed it after i bought a little marshall mini headphone amp just for fun and it buzzes for the "G" note too but that may be because its small ;D

Is it all G's or only low G ? If it's low G, that means there's something wrong with your EQ (i.e. the EQ is emphasizing G note). Try to re-tweak your EQ, if the amp's EQ is not enough, save a little bit more and get an EQ pedal.

I have an MG and my guess is that the G is just hitting a resonant frequency inherent to the MG series' less-than--the-best speakers and comparatively shoddy cabinet quality. IE that frequency is rattling your amp.
One way you could tell, if you have the materials and time, is get a couple of c-clamps or pipe clamps and some board and find a way to "compress" the cabinet, IE keep pressure on it from two sides and hold it solidly together, then play through it. If the buzzing stops, then a crappy cab is the problem.

Yes Ive got one too! - (lets all admit it). Actually I think it is a great little box, plenty to scare the cats with while keeping friends with the neighbours. I don't get a buzz, its fairly consistent across the range. My main complaint is that the only half decent overdrive sounds occur in the first fraction of an inch of the gain control.

a bit late with this reply, i only just joined, but i had a marshall master lead mk ii (or something) 50 watt 2x12 all valve combo. it also had a wierd rattling, a bit like milk bottles clinking together, but coming out of the speakers. this also happened with the two lowest gs on the guitar. i found that it stopped after i turned it off, waited for it to cool down, and pushed all of the valves in. however, it started again after 5-10 minutes of playing. i don't know if they were coming loose, or if it just took a while for something to warm up before it went wrong. anyway, i never fixed the problem, and soon traded it in on a tele custom. i regret it somewhat though, it did sound REALLY good when you turned it up and played some rock riff through it. a bit loud for home use, though.
