Half-Power switch

Twin Brain.

Want to put a switch in that disables/cuts/hibernates (or whatever it does) 1/2 the power tubes.

Torres Engineering has one:

But given his prices on everything else, this can't be that difficult --- a $1 toggle and instructions = 1500% markup.

Anyone run accross a how-to on this mod?

well i haven't seen one, but my guess would be, at it's simplest it would be a DPST to disconnect the plates (pin 3) on one tube on EACH side of the output transformer.

even if it is just a switch, that one will cost you more than a buck. there's 450~500 volts on those plates, so you can't use the cheap stuff.

it may be even more complicated (a cheap switch and a 3DST relay) so the screen grids can also be disconnected at the same time)
