Fender Blues Jr amp. Next door neighbor let me borrow this amp because he didn't use it any more. I plug it in and let me tell you, something is wrong.\\BIGTIME!@!
I can turn the volume all the way up to ten on both the master and other volume for drive and i get the output loudness of a pair of walkman earphones not in my ear. It also has this weird thing that if i pluck a note on a brand new LP studio, the note sustains for around 4 to 5 seconds and the sound warbles and goes to 0. Like the amp is cutting off. I didn't drop it or unplug anything. I know it isn't the guitar(s) or cords i am using as they work as they should on other amps. Can someone give me a direction to go with this one.. i am not too experienced in Tube amps and i have not got a clue with this one.
THanks,
Jeff

Jeff, Tube Check on Aisle 4, Please! It sounds like either one of the tubes has gone completely bad, or at least it's not sitting fully within its socket. First, make sure all 5 tubes are correctly seated tightly. Next, test each tube by replacing them one at a time with known good tubes. You may need to enlist a friend's help for this one, preferably one that owns a tube amp, and who will let you swap tubes around. After that, you're gonna need a qualified service technician. Unless you feel qualified...... HTH sumgai

I had a blues jr. back in the day, and also experienced a similar problem intermittently. It was all the result of a bad solder joint on the tube heater pins. Good old Fender quality control strikes again.
