Hi there
I confess I am something of a luddite and have bought a secondhand Fender 65 RI Super Reverb of an American guy who had moved here to Scotland. I have been running it using a uS to UK power transformur. Just wondered if any of you guys were aware of any issues -damage/safety in doing this?
Cheers
Keith

Hi keithyboy, and welcome to the forums. I don't think that you will have any trouble with the amp just using the voltage converter. Hopefully it is grounded. If not, change to one that provides the grounding protection. The only other things you might consider would be a surge protector and or filter, just for a little extra protection and assurance that you are minimizing any AC signal that might sneak into your amp. Of course, being a Yank, I haven't had the experience of some others. My guess is that some of our members from your side of the pond will be able to provide you with some insight from their experience. I expect they'll be along here shortly. Carl

Ive been running stuff that I bought years ago in the US, down here in Australia which has 240V. Not amps, but fridge, stereo and computer stuff. The convertors work well, but I second the point about making sure they are grounded, for safety and to reduce noise in audio gear. Also, the power rating on the convertor should be in excess of the power consumption of the amp by a good margin, I like a factor of two. My 40W combo has a rated power consumption of 150W, so if it needed a convertor, Id be wanting one rating at 300W or more.
cheers
John
