Hello everyone. I have had my share of solid state amps through the years, and I have only owned one tube amp--my Crate VC 30 that I bought way back in 97 or 98. (They updated this model to be Crate V now) Anyway I am a sonic primitive. I don't use effects at all, and whenever I feel the need, I just plug them in for a while-- they are NOT part of my permanent sound at all. I am strongly thinking of buying an Emery Superbaby OR an Emery Stagebaby head along with a nice 12 inch cabinet that he sells. I'll spare you all my rambling descriptions and instead provide you with the link: www.emerysound.comI am looking into them because of three reasons: 1. Sonic simplicity. Basic controls that mirror my style of play 2. Sonic variety. The ultimate in tube adaptability 3. They look fantastic. Questions: 1. Does anyone have experience with these amps? If so, please talk! 2. Would I be better off buying the Stagebaby over the Superbaby (up to 35 watt versus up to 12 watt). I gig in small places, and I would just mic the Superbaby through the PA to get more volume. The Superbaby is a bit different apart from the wattage however 3. Opinions on 12 inch versus 10 inch speaker cabinet? ( edited by sumgai to improve the link's readability.)
