Hello;
this is my first time on the forum, however I have read the guitar nuts a long time ago.
In any case, me and my friend have some old solid state marshall cabinets. And I've checked the back, they do not have a plugin for putting a head on top and connecting it to the speakers.
i wanted to ask what does it take to get the amp configured to using that. I was thinking of making use of my old 30 watt marshall valvestate amp, and putting an epiphone valuve junior on top of it, and begin learning how to fool with the mp
Btw, I own a Peavey Jsx, and I love it's tone
thanks guys.

Hi asmodeous, and welcome to GuitarNutz2. It's pretty easy actually. Just run over to radio shack and get a 1/4" female jack and connect it to the cable that goes to the speaker(s). If the Marshall still works, you may want to use a 1/4" switching tip jack which would disconnect the marshall's amp when using it as a cabinet for your peavy. Radioshack.com does not show the switching jack, but all of the ones by me carry them in regular stock. When you mount the jack in the cabinet, you'll probably want to mount it on the back, you may need to cut out some of the INSIDE of the cabinet so the threads can make it through to the outside (make sure to use washers, or you'll end up with a hole in your cab). If the amp in the cabinet is dead (and you're not interested in fixing it), you could just wire up the speakers to one of the jacks on the front panel or mount your new jack in the front panel.
