Ok, so this will apply more to bass cabs than guitar, but can anyone clarify what happens to impedance when cabs are daisy chained, rather than being driven by separate outputs from the amp? As I understand it, using one output at, say, 8ohms will provide a resistance of 8ohms, and using two outputs at 8ohms will provide a resistance of 4ohms. With one output driving one 8ohm cab, then linked to another 8ohm cab, does the impedance remain the same? And if so, could I therefore drive four 8ohm cabs at a load of 4ohms from two speaker outputs? Or more usefully use two cabs, but without increasing the output power of the amp?
