Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the presence function on a Hotrod Deluxe does? I can hear the tone become brighter when I turn it up but I'm not sure exactly what "presence" it's making stronger.

The best way to think of it is as a 'very high treble' control. The usual Bass, Middle and Treble controls are *usually* used for the main character of the tone, things like 'presence' and 'deep' controls are then a good way to compensate for different sounding rooms (splashy or dull, tight or boomy) without altering the sound you spent all that time getting right elswhere! I reckon, anyhow...

Yeah, very few care that it affects the negative feedback path from the output to the phase inverter.

Yeah, very few care that it affects the negative feedback path from the output to the phase inverter. ...or know what that means!! Thanks Sumgai, I will endeavour to apply that elsewhere- although in real life I am tall, and sour! Kuzi, I'm keen to know the power of 'reckon' I always enjoy pointing out the little differences between the English and American languages, but even my dear lady wife reckons she heard it used growing up over there...
