Recently while using my Crybaby ( No, not mt ex-wife )but the pedal, I am picking up radio stations. I am planing to use it at my daughters school assembly next month and it could be annoying if this keeps up...what gives?

Recently while using my Crybaby pedal, I am picking up radio stations. I am planing to use it at my daughters school assembly next month and it could be annoying if this keeps up...what gives? Various components in guitars and effects can behave like an antenna. (A singlecoil pickup is basically a big ol' antenna.) Did you still get that RFI (radio frequency interference) with the pedal out of the chain? Depending on the construction of the building where the assembly is held, and/or the distance from the transmitter, you might not have the same problem during your public appearance. (Steel-frame structure might provide some shielding.) Not terribly reassuring, right? Edit: You're pretty sure the ex doesn't read this forum, or you're just not worried, right? ;D

WAH.
is that the kind of pedal you're using, or the call letters of the station that's causing the interference?
(sorry guys, i just HAD to!)

I know a couple of people this sort of thing has happened to. They were playing strats and picking up some sort of radio/CB signal.

..and that's exactly why we're QTB'ing strats. QTB aren't just for Strats. it can also be done in stompboxes, amps, ..whatever.
from what I know, a stompbox usually make use of its own metal casing as a RF shield. In deepblue's case, it could probably be that the Crybaby's casing doesn't connect into ground anymore.
