Hey everybody! I've been gone for the last 4+ months on summer vacation. I take vacation very literally. Aside from work I used my computer only for games. 75% of the average day I spent sleeping, 24% playing guitar and 1% eating and doing those other necessary things. I know your saying "4+ Months for summer vacation?!?! Lucky (pick your own expletive). The last month and a half I spent, preping for school, going to school, planning a wedding and being in a wedding (I was an usher at my sister's wedding). How has the last 4+ months been for all of you? Moving on from that, I am taking a class on Computer Integrated Manufacturing. In that we have to engrave something with the school's laser engraver. I know your saying "LASER ENGRAVER?!?! My school didn't/doesn't have one of those!" Well it's a charter school thats inside another school, we don't have to worry much about bills and such so we buy cool stuff like laser engravers, plasma cutters and water jet cutters (I cant wait until it comes in). But to get back on track. I went through my options, wine glasses for my sister and her fiance (now husband), wallets etc. The stuff everyone else was doing. I decided to take the fall, go outside the box, do something new or at least original to the class. I chose to engrave my guitar neck. In between the 5th and 6th fret will be my initials (JBF). Now having a customized neck I couldn't just slap that back onto my old Randy Rhoads. I painted it with "Hammered Black" spray paint and gave it two blue stripes. I am in the process of painting the pick guard and string guide thingy blue and within the next few months I will be purchasing a white EMG-HB and EMG-81. Until the EMGs come in I am just going to stick to the stock Jackson pickups. There you have it. What I've been up to in the past 4+ months. Pictures soon. Hopefully the engraver will be working (the laser wasn't firing today) tomorrow so I can have the neck home and the guitar working by Friday. Pictures will be taken soon, probably tomorrow. Until then, these are before pictures.
