Hello, This is a great forum as I just found it. I have a Fender Hot Rod Deville that makes a loud static crunchy noise. The louder I strum my guitar the louder the sound gets. Keep in mind that it also makes it when the channel volume is turned down. I can reach around the back of it and wiggle the #2 preamp tube from side to side and it makes the sound also. The tube does light up. Please help

stratdude,
Hi, and welcome to the Nutzhouse! ;D
The solution to your described problem is fairly easy. Do this:
Swap the tube with the one next to it, then wiggle it (the same tube in the new position). Did the problem move with the tube? If so, replace it. If the problem remains in the same place, with the freshly swapped tube, then it's time to visit a qualified amp tech.
