Greetings -
Anyone out there have any experience or knowledge with an old (probably 1970) Kalamazoo BASS 30 amp?
I know Gibson bought them out, and their circuitry is similar (probably stolen) to some Fender amps, but that's about the size of it.
If anyone has stories or insight, good or bad, it would be greatly appreciated if you'd share them.
I ask this as I have a chance to pick one up, physically unseen (pictures only), for about $10.00-$15.00. I figured for that price I can gut it and the box is worth that much...
Thanks in advance.
Happy Trails

No experience with that particular K'zoo, but you might want to look at this: www.rru.com/~meo/Guitar/Amps/Kalamazoo/Bass/If it's a 1970 vintage, that would be when Gibson owned K'zoo. Never played one of their bass amps, but the Model 1 and Model 2 guitar amps were decent little practice amps back in the day. Two of the guitarists in my junior-high garage band had these amps, they had decent tube tone and ok tremolo. Interestingly, the two amps were identical except for cosmetics, one was an older model with different grillcloth and tolex, but that one was badged as an Epiphone instead of a Kalamazoo. The bass amps may similarly be available with either nameplate, not sure on that.

Newey -
I checked that link, and every other one I could find. Everyone sings their praises...but then, not many people build a webpage for something that sucks...
I figure if it goes cheap I'll give it a shot
Thanks

PS: Yes, it's a kazoo for the blues.
