Hello Everyone, Does anyone know if there is a local distributor in the United States for the following switch: YKE 5-way selector switch. I have seen one website refer to this switch as the YKE 5 Way DM-50 Import switch (Website: www.soundchamberrepairs.com/switchesGuitar.htm)I have found another UK website (Website:http://www.axesrus.com/axeknobs.htm) which offers this switch but they do not ship to the United States. If you need a picture of this switch, this website has a pretty good one. I my opinion, there is nothing unique about this switch in terms of its wiring capabilities, BUT it has really good "action" or "play" to it and it seems extremely robust. This switch MAY be manufactured in China. I do know that the Fender Squire Standard Strats are using this switch. You can find some threads on Harmony Central website and the Telecaster Guitar Forum (Website: which verify this. P.S. 'YKE' MAY be the manufacturer but as of right now, i cannot tell who actually manufacturers this switch. Thank you all for your input and advice. Best, Fenleo

Fen, I haven't found anything you haven't found - sorry. I would just use an Allparts switch or something, unless you are absolutely hell-bent on the one you have mentioned. But, uh, just what exactly are you planning to do with this guitar that requires an extremely robust switch? Allparts 5 way switch: www.allparts.com/store/electronics-switches-ep-0076-000,Product.asp

The Megaswitches sold by Stew Mac are quite robust and have a great feel. I have several of them. These are made by Schaller of Germany.
