I want to add a tele pickup on the bridge of my strat. I have made a plate that will position the tele pup in the right place. My question is: Are there wiring issues when wiring the two types of pup's together e.g. impedance issues, caps, etc... ?
Thx, Walt

Hello and Welcome!
In short, no. The only potential issue is that some older (as well as new "vintage" styles) Tele bridge pups grounded the pickup to the baseplate, which was then further grounded to the bridgeplate. With that type of pickup, you will need to run a separate ground wire because the plastic pickguard on a Strat won't allow for the same grounding.
If you have one of the more modern versions, with a separate ground wire, you would simply wire it just the same way as your Strat bridge pickup was done to begin with.

While you state that you've made a mounting plate for the Tele pickup (and I assume that this is just for the pickup and does not contact the bridge in any way), if the Tele pickup has one of its wires from the coil contacting this plate, you would want that wire to connect to the ground on the back of the volume pot. Otherwise, when you touch the mounting plate, you're touching the input to the amp (buzzing noise at full output power).
I can't say if the other two pickups in your Strat will have the same phasing.
If the bridge and middle pickups sound very thin and tinny when selected together, you have a phasing issue.
Everything else should be compatible, after all, my Nashville Power Tele has a Strat pickup in the middle.
If your plate is plastic, never mind.
Check back in for more help if needed.
BTW, DiMarzio, Seymour Duncan, and others make Tele-sounding bridge pickups in a Strat pickup footprint.

Thanks for the input guys, what a great site. As for the guitar I built it using a warmouth back routed body. No pickguard. The plate I made using the same dimensions as a tele plate but it ends just short of my trem. It does not touch. I understand that the metal plate itself has to do with helping the tele sound so I tried to emulate it as much as I could and just use a regular tele pickups. I am using the fender 69's on the neck and mid and thinking of using a Texas Tele for the bridge. Any input on the Texas Blues Tele pup?
Thx again
