I'm always in search of a "fuller" sound. One that makes your guitar sound big but doesn't add a lot of delay or chorus or really doesn't seem to color the sound. The best way I can put it is that you really can't hear what it's doing but you sure know when you turn it off. You can see the kind of SF's I'm talking about. Something like a spatial separator, eq etc... I'm more into the little effects than the ones that jump out and slap you.
I'm curious about what other guitar nuts think so here you go.
What effect/pedal/rack do you think has the biggest "subtle" effect on your sound?

The BBE Sonic Stomp Sonic maximizer pedal, and my Indyguitarist modded Boss CS3 Compressor fit that description.

Thx Mr Sooty, I've heard about the BBE before but know little about it. I'm going to have to check into it.
Does anyone have any experience with a TC Electronics TC1210 or a Boss DC-3? I hear either one of these can really do wonders for your sound especially if you like a clean edgy sound but I have not tried them.

I've been looking into the Durham Electronics 'Sex Drive' which is probably exactly the sort of thing you're looking for. The reviews on Harmony Central are outstanding. Basically a clean boost with some extra low end, a little gain on tap, and a toggle switchable compressor section.

If possible, try out an Xotic RC Booster. I also like Keeley BD-2 Phat. These will give you an "almost" dirty sound.
