At the moment I have a 100k Black Top pot in my wah pedal. I am curious what a 200k would do. I suppose when it's in the back position it would increase the amount of highs being sent to ground and vice versa when in the forward position. My thinking is that this would increase the sweep range.

Bean- My thinking is that it would decrease, not increase, it. But that's not an answer I have a great deal of confidence in, so before you dismember your pedal, let's both await a more definitive answer.

My thinking is that this would increase the sweep range. Sounds possible to me, bean - depending on the type of pot. So if you rolled your 200k pot back to 8.5 or 9, you would be about where you were at 10 with the 100k pot ... ... could be when everyone else's range goes from one to ten ... yours would go to eleven! (edit: at least assuming that the characteristics of a 250k A taper pot vs a 500k A taper pot bear the same relationship to each other as a 100k A taper pot would to a 200k A taper pot) I don't know if the extra highs would cause a problem in terms of the actual signal / harmonics that the wah is supposed to wah ... if that was the case, I guess a treble bleed could address it (at which time you would ask yourself what the point of swapping the pot was in the first place). You know, I bet Jon Stewart started off as a GN2 member, and then got confused by all this, at which time he said "Wah?" and became rich and famous. Man we're good! DD

oops, just saw newey's response before mine.
Let's not assume my response to be that "definitive answer", okay?
WAH?

I guess the best thing to do would be to try it and see what happens. Well, looks like I'll be ordering a new pot soon. Thanks fellows.
