Rather than cut/paste I'll just link to my existing rant. It all boils down to: NO GEAR FOR YOU!!!

ux, Errrr, what's this about Gary Richrath (and Kevin Cronin) not being worth the price of a browser's Cancel button? Man, you are living under a very false impression! When all else fails, all you gotta remember is that You Can Tune A Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish. ;D What's that? Oh, you were talking about MF going belly up, mosh-kosh. I've got some rather-delayed news for you, bunkie..... they went belly-up several years ago, but somehow, the body just doesn't seem to have the good grace to lie down and act like a corpse. Sad when they do that, ain't it? And I was moved by the story of Cheyanne. sumgai

I think that your misfortune with MF may have been to my benefit. When I went to their local outlet here in Kansas City a couple of weeks ago, the store was gone. From the directions on the sign outside it looked like the new store was out in the boonies, and about 20 minutes later I found that it really was. They had a brand-new gigantic building/warehouse in the Missouri river bottoms (ruined a lot of good corn and soybean fields). There are no other buildings within nearly half a mile.
Even with their new showroom their service stinks, though. A lot of customers came and went before they brought out the item I was after. It must have been stocked somewhere in the back 40. Anyway, they really did move their warehouse, and I'm sure that messed up a lot of orders. Maybe they'll do better for you in the future (if you give 'em another chance).

ux... I hear ya loud and clear buddy! I went through a huge ordeal with SRV Start....Long story short: I now have it, I love it! I find as an adult I dont get excited much anymore. You know, that feeling? I remember how excited I felt going to pick up my new guitar. Then when I had all the problems, had to have it sent back to Fender, waiting and waiting. It takes some of the shine off of the experience. People have the power...Im sure they MF will be hurting if this keeps up. Trust me, I know what youre feeling. Hang in there my friend!

Thanks guys, it was suggested I might have better luck to cancel and then reorder, but at this point, I can't be sure of anything.
Sumgai,
Gary is no longer with them, tho his stand-in not only looks like (a younger) him, but also plays exactly like him. Can you imagine that being the culmination of your years of playing, to be a stand-in for Gary Richrath?
Cloning is possible.

I'm getting ancy. If it's been more than 30 days, they are required by law to send you a postcard (not a letter, not an email) stating the reason for the delay, the new expected shipping date, and most important, giving you the option of cancelling the order - without penalty. (They can't charge a fee for anything, no matter how much they might whine that it's not their fault, and they've supposedly gone to all this trouble on your behalf, yadda yadda yadda. Cry me a river.) You must tell them, they aren't obligated to cancel on your behalf. And you can do that via a return postcard, or the phone. Not saying anything is tantamount to agreeing to the delay. Moreover, if you charged the purchase to your credit card, you're safe. Once again by law, they can't ding your card until they actually ship the merchandise out the door. (In today's world, that's easily confirmed with a shipper's tracking number.) If they charged your card anyway, you should consider reporting them to the State Attorney General's Office. You might use that little factoid as a bargaining chip, as you "gently but firmly" plant your Size 12 gunboat where the sun never shines. HTH sumgai

seems youre not the only member on here having trouble with MF. my girlfriends brother(mmray on here) ordered an envelope filter for his bass a few weeks ago. gave him the same run around they gave you.

I called them today and canceled the order, and got them to credit the gift certificate back to my Mrs' card. I then headed over to GC (as Sam Ash doesn't stock the FM100H), but alas when I went to my GC, neither store had a FM100H either (turns out the one I played last time was a fluke someone ordered and didn't pick up, it's not regularly stocked there either and had since sold). I played the Vox ADxxVT's again, but while I like the amp emulations, the amp itself just doesn't grab me the way it did a year ago. I'm liking something simpler, and I am on a budget.....SoOOOOoooo, after cutting through all the $300 and under amps, It was the another Fender FM series that ended up grabbing me for clean sound....the Fender FM 212R I'll post my initial impressions in my original thread. $30 cheaper than MF, but I had to pay tax, so it's a wash

I won't buy from Musicians Friend again, after a really messed up order experience. Why not try the other web retailers, I thought. Zzounds did a great job last thing i ordered from them.

I've been ordering from MF for 6 years and never had a problem. Several guitars, amps, parts and pieces always on time and never damaged. My last order took two weeks, but there was a note at the time of my order that told me it would be late with a projected ship date. I received the order a day before the ship date. I've never been let down after 30 plus orders.
