I think that can be said for any business you go into where you care more about the end result then the profits...which is easy to do in becoming a luthier.

I did horse training, rehab and trimming for years, but spent too much time making sure it was right to afford to stay with it.

Seems like when your soul goes in your stomach stays empty...
