I've got a problem with the amount of gain I'm getting in this pedal's circuit. I recently bought some Custom Shop Texases, which replaced the Noiselesses in my strat, lower output. I had some sweet tone going through this Danelectro CTO-1, but now the new pickups are driving it harder, with a little too much gain. I've tried all kinds of settings, but can't find that "spot". I LOVE the higher output with the pedal off, though. Is there a way to reduce the input gain of the little Danelectro? And is the pedal taking the higher output even with it off? Like would there be a difference between taking the pedal out of the "chain" and leaving it in? It's true-bypass if that helps..
BTW, I have no "chain of effects" or anything, just the CTO-1 in front.

So, turning the Gain knob on the unit down isn't getting you what you want? Is it that this knob doesn't seem to go down far enough, or that it's not got enough "sensitivity" in that turning it a tiny bit makes too much change to zero in on the right setting?
Does it help to turn down the volume at the guitar? This might cause a loss of high end that you might not want, but can you get it to do the gain thing you're looking for this way?
The answers to these questions will help us decide on a best solution. A schematic, or some well focused photos of the circuit board, will help us decide on proper values and placements for the resistors we're going to need. The actual construction of the unit will help us decide what mechanical process it's going to take. Many of these boxes have the jacks, switches, and pots all soldered directly to the circuit board. That kind of mod goes beyond my skills with a soldering iron, but it's not impossible.
