Or maybe it's Patrick Vaughn Stump (of Fall Out Boy) who's a true Guitar nut. But Gretsch's new signature model Patrick Vaughn Stump Stump-O-Matic Corvette sure incorporates a lot of ideas we've had floating around here for a while. Does any of the following sound vaguely familiar?: It's a three pickup (TV Jones designed, natch) Corvette It has a 2-position rotary "mode" switch that switches from "3 pickup mode" to "2 pickup mode". There is a blend pot to blend in the middle pickup when the rotary is turned to 3 pickup mode. With the rotary in 2 pickup mode, the 3-way toggle gives B / N+B / N; in three pickup mode you get B+M / N+M / N+M+B, with the middle blended in to taste. It also has a mini-toggle kill switch on board. I thought it was interesting that they chose a 2-position (!) rotary, but the scheme does give N+B and N+M+B. Not bad for $700, if oinly it weren't so butt ugly.
