I see MF has the Disney by Washburn Hannah Montana 3/4 size guitar on sale for $50. With some set-up work and some modding, it could make a nice little travel guitar for low $$. Krylon is your friend on this one. Hey, for $50 one could part it out on Ebay and probably make a profit.

Yeah, I was just noticin' that too..... K-head is the first one on the board to exceed 100 Karma points. Too bad they're not going in the direction that most folks consider 'desirable'......

Hey, it wasn't me. Kyle was at -138 when I smote him again this morning. Must be someone else with magic buttons . . . or maybe his alter ego, smiting one at a time for several days.

Well, there are more than a few "tricks of the trade", so to speak. And it doesn't take a Forum/BBS user much seasoning to learn how, when and where to use 'em...... Say, that reminds me..... newey, isn't about time to perform our Biennial sweeping out of the deadwood around this here NutzHouse? ;P

Not sure what you mean there, Gai. If you mean updating the post counts, I did that last week.

I saw one of these Hannah Montana guitars in a store. It had the worst fret job I've seen yet. Or maybe no fret job. Like, I swear it would have been actually dangerous to play.
I would almost guess that the Hannah Montana character must be some super-cool shredder and the guitar is designed so kids can't help but play until they're hands are bleeding.

Well, Hannah may be a finger shredder, but that guitar is no longer available, so it's a moot point as far as using it for a mod scheme. But there's a new contender for the cheap mod king crown: www.rondomusic.com/product2202.html$69.95 for a single pup "EVH-style" Strat with a 3/4 maple neck. And no refinishing needed. I have an SX Strat neck on the 4Caster, and it's not bad for a cheap neck, no cut fingers anyway.

I don't know if you guys are seeing different numbers than me, but according to my current count, kyle has -91,027 points. Is there something wrong with my eyes, or, is, kyle in my head?

jc, Take a close gander at the dates on that initial round of posts. There's more than a year's period bewteen then and now, and during that time KIIMH managed to out perform all other members of all other forums on the innerwebs (combined!). Like I said earlier, it's too bad they all went the wrong direction. HTH sumgai

You can still get the HM on eBay shipped to your door for $54. I picked one up for a friend's kid I'm teaching to play. (I've modded all my guitars and I don't do well with sharing, esp with a child.) I had to do some fretwork as the Hannah Montana comes ready to slice a child's hand open. But other than that the little eyesore is good to go. And for $54 the kid could toss it down the stairs and set it on fire for all I care. Nobody's gonna cry over it. Actually, setting it on fire could only improve its appearance.

All kidding aside, one of the best platforms for mods would be an old Peavey, Ibanez, Fernandes or Burney. (Which is still a Fernandes...)
With the current state of the economy the pawn shops are full of these old guitars and a deal can be had with little effort.
The added advantage is you can play it without concern for your health, safety or self image...although a flaming lavender guitar would get you some cool points...until the blistering begins...
