Screw that Bucker!

Hi everybody!

New here, so I thought I'd toss an easy one: Do you like the sound more with a humbucker screwed directly to the wood, or mounted on springs?

I'm working on my first build, and would really like to know!

If anyone's interested, I can also post the crazy wiring I've come up with for this one.

It all depends on what type of sound one likes. And of course, there are many different humbuckers and many types of wood into which they may be screwed . . .

In general, screwed into the body gives more sustain, spring mounted is more of a clean jazzy sound.

I have a couple of guitars with HBs screwed into the wood, and others with the spring on the mounting ring thing.
