cool Id definately build it. I would change the 3 bolt neck to four bolts if it has the infamous 70's 3 bolt. Good luck let me know how its going. Peace, Damian

Put a set a lipstick pups in that baby, really make her standout in the crowd(and mix) Disclaimer: I have no earthly idea how lipstick pups sound tonalally, I just know they look cool as all getout and therefore I will own a Strat with lipstick pups one day....;D

Ive never worn lipstick either . But in my opinion I would go with texas specials super good pickups for the money I put them in a strat I built and they are the shiot! for real. Check this cool site called acmeguitarworks.com for some cool pickup mp3 samples. good luck and let us know how its going.

hey, i thought i was the only one who buys gear according to aesthetics and hopes that it sounds good too! ;D Nope, I do too LOL Actually I have heard lipstick pups but not in person. I have this video of SRV playing live somewhere and he uses a Olymic White Strat with Lipstick pups when he plays Tin Pan Alley and it sounds pretty good, better than the other guitars he played IMO...

it has to sound great but it also has to look good ...to me anyway . Nah, I'd play something that looks like crap but sounds killer. Form always follows function...

uh, Trey, I think I should add "and plays well" (i.e. who wants to play a guitar with killing sound if it has an extremely bowed neck ?) ;D

one time when i was on a pedal-buying binge i saw a pedal in a catalogue that looked really cool. rounded edges, 3 racing stripes down the center, off-white chicken head knobs. i thought to myself, "wow, that's nice! i wonder how much that costs!" then i realized i had no idea what kind of pedal it was. i wanted to buy it before i even knew if it was delay, OD, phaser, etc.! ;D ;D ;D

If the body just looks like a relic, I wouldn't do anything with it except clean it. Seymor Duncan Lipstick pickups sound like a good choice. I would add a SPSF on/off switch to give me 7 pickup selctions and play the snot out of it. You may even consider using only 3 mini switches to turn you pickups on and off, just to be different. If the neck is solid I wouldn't change from the 3 bolt set-up and would use 9 gauge strings. Take a look at what the custom shop charges for relic guitars, and depending on how yours looks you may have the perfect starting platform.
Nice Score.

well the neck looks good so I'm going to keep it . I will try a set of 10's on it ...only because I like 10's . it is a 3 bolt neck ! a 1st time for me with that . going with stock 5 way switch (trying to keep the look ) and also for a maybe resale on this .
