Does anyone know where I can buy vintage-style capacitors for tube amps?
Also, does anyone know of a reliable place where I can get these values: 100pF-400v 250pF-400v .001uF-400v .1uF-200v 47uF-400v
Thanks.

Take a look at Mojo Musical Supply. I didn't check specifically for those values you listed, but they carry just about anything needed for amp projects. EDIT:Also, Triode Electronics carries NOS caps, and the prices seem a bit better than Mojo.

Doug Hoffman www.hoffmanamps.com/ is an excellent source for amp parts, including capacitors. Antique Electronics Supply www.tubesandmore.com/ is another, and Angela is also fine angela.com/capacitors.aspxThere are lots of suppliers. I'm not sure what you mean by 'vintage-style' though. Based on the values, at least the 47uf normally would only be used as a power supply filter cap. Electrolytic caps are one component that have definitely improved since back in The Day. I usually use F&T, but have also used Illinois and a few others with no problems. I avoid Sprague Atoms, though, they are expensive and are really just a modern electro in a large, vintage-looking canister with a lot of air in it. For the .001 and .1, the usual suspects would be Mallory 150s, OD 715 or 225, Xicon, or more cork-sniffer stuff from (for example) SoZo. I assume you are looking at coupling caps here. The pF values (these days) would normally be silver mica; "vintage style" would be ceramic disk; this is another area (imho) where vintage is not necessarily better. Remember that you can always increase the voltage rating. steven
