A couple of new Tube Amp options.

Some new Tube amps being released may get the juices flowing among Tubeheads. Ibanez has come out with a 15 watt "Tubescreamer" head:



This has a "genuine Tubescreamer" built into the front end. $299 at MF:

Kustom is issuing a whole new line of low-end amps, available in March. MF is taking preorders now. Mostly solid state (with a nice looking 2X10" 40 watter with FX for $150!), but they are also issuing the 5W "Defender" tube amp, a one-knob wonder like the Epi VJ, for a mere $99.

A Defender 1X12" cab is also avaible for $99. I definitely want to check one of these out once they're released. Then, the next question is whether it can be converted to an outboard reverb unit like folks do with the VJ. HMMM.

resurrecting an old thread, but I've had the defender 1x12 can for awhile now and dig it as a cheap, portable alternative to my 4x12s and now my last 2x12. cheap pressboard with a lame jack and a subpar speaker, but i replaced with a switchcraft jack and eminence texas heat and have even gone on a short tour with it . i like the vintage fenderish look to it, too
