Ok, you got me...
1.) Saw dust collector bag.
2.) While this appears to be just an arrow pointing to the motor, my guess is that this is for the brush caps.
3.) It's a bit tricky to tell from the photograph, but my guess is that it's a clamp assembly to hold your work while you cut it.
4.) These are probably the miter detents. These are generally set at the most common miter angles.
5.) No real good idea on this one. Possible a lockout for the miter detent release...
6.) Looks like a handle to me...
7.) So does this one...possible it's pointing to a trigger or a deadman safety device.
8.) Blade guard.
9.) Blade
10.) Fence
11.) Miter Detent Override with Kerf Inserts
12.) Miter Lock Knob
So...what did I win?

volt,
I'm not sure what's supposed to be happening here, but I let it go, as there was no reason to be concerned. I also didn't participate simply to see what transpired....
But now I have to help you out, and it looks like, c1 can use some eyeball grease too. ;D
4 - is the graduated miter scale
5 - is the Bevel lock release lever.
7 - is the Release Button for the handle. Said handle can be swiveled to one of three possible positions, and is locked in place until this button is depressed.
I would have reversed 8 and 9 simply due to the proximity of the arrowheads....
11 - is the table control handle, for positioning the rotating table to the desired miter angle.

What, c1, aren't the horses paying you enough for keeping their stalls mucked out? ;D

They repay me by refilling them daily...much like management at my current employer...
Even through I work in IT, I'm kind of a Luddite at heart. My old Dell Latitude does the web and e-mail...and even wireless with the PCMCIA card...but the display is showing it's age...along with my eyes...
Thanks for catching what I missed, SG
Happy Trails

c1, Hell's Bells, if I'd known you were a fellow Luddite, I wouldna said anything. I'm embarrassed. As it happens, I don't have one of these, but I looked at it for a brief time, before settling on my Makita. Couple of friends in the construction industry go through these things like twice a year, or more....... Makita seems to be getting the nod for reliability and endurance. For all the more money they cost, Bosch et al don't seem to stand up as well, at least for guys who move their tools to a new jobsite every few weeks (or even days). ~!~!~!~ volt, Where are you located that you couldn't just pop down to the local hardware store and take a close gander at one of these babies? Even the Lowe's/Home Depot/Menardsc dudes would be able to answer your questions, and probably quicker than we did. Not saying anything here, ya know, just sayin', tha's all. sumgai
