hey, does anyone know where to get one of those pots as found on models like jaguar and jazzmaster? i think they're called thumbwheel?

 www.allparts.com/cmtpage.php?filename=Home has a pot that is described as a 50K Linear Taper Roller Pot for Jazzmaster®, Solid Shaft, With Hardware. Go to electronics and then miscellaneous pots. There you will find Part #EP_4992-000 Retail Price: $5.00. Not sure if the actual thumbwheel comes with this item, but www.guitarpartsresource.com/ has them. Click on the GUITAR PARTS RESOURCE logo and go to Hardware/Screws then Jaguar Jazzmaster Hardware. There you will find Roller Control knob set for Jazzmaster® guitar. Metal with black finish. thanks, StratLover! i thought i'd checked allparts. guess not. looks like it's made like a normal pot. i thought it was made differently since the wheel is sort of flush w/ the pickguard. (the guitar i'm planning to put 'em on isn't a JM + i've never seen the "guts" of a JM. do you happen to know how pots are mounted on a jazzmaster then?  |

thanks a lot! glad you happened to be watching that auction. the computer i'm on now won't let me access that page but i'll have a look tomorrow. i'll see how it's mounted and probably use standard 500K pots and improvise a mounting system w/ parts from the hardware store.
