I'm trying to make up my mind about which one to buy... the VT50(http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Vox-Valvetronix-VT50-50W-1x12-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=424008) or the VK112(http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Peavey-ValveKing-112-Combo-Amp?sku=481442). Mainly just going to use it to practice and play with friends...mostly practice. I've heard that you need at least a 50 watt amp if you're playing with a drummer. Hence I'm thinking about buying one of these. Would they be too loud to be used as practice amps? Next, my playing style is mainly metal, but I also want good clean tones, and some good overdrive, along with a little bit of reverb. That's about all I'm looking for in an amp. Where I live, the VK costs roughly about $100 more than the VT50(the price isn't really an issue, but I'm looking for something in the $400 - $600 range... so if you have any other amps you'd like to mention go ahead.... just stick to tube/ hybrid amps). So, based on everything I've mentioned above, which would be the better choice and why? Thanks.

I don't know either of these amps, so I can't help you there. But if you decide on the VT50, North Coast Music makes them with the cool vintage Vox grillcloth, instead of the expanded metal grill. Choice of brown, black, or blue, for a bit more money than MF, but lots more vintage mojo . . .

the Vox Valvetronics seem to be pretty versatile , and a good value .
i have the DA5 , and it is a great little amp. a friend of mine has the 50 watt and he loves it

I have an AD30, And I think its a very versatile amp, that has a good range of sounds, I can also say that my orange tiny terror blows it out of the water for everything exceot the death metal tones, that it needs a stompbox for
I would say the valveking, or maybe the peavy windsor studio, thats a nice little amp..
However I would say the Vox is the better amp compared to similiarly priced solid state amps.
