Can anyone help with the re-wiring of my Epiphone Les Paul? Over the years of the loosing and tighting of the jack has broken the wires to the jack. I thought it would be an easy solder job. The jack has 2 posts, the wire going to it has an internal jacketed wire and windings around that. I figured one wire to each post. WRONG! I still get nothing out of the guitar. What is the correct wiring pattern? any help would be appreicated. Thanks Terry

Follow the leads in to the cavity, you'll see which one is hot and which one is ground. The interal jacketed wire goes to the tip lug on the jack and the braided wire wrapped around it goes to ground (sleeve lug on the jack). Insert a 1/4" plug to see which lug is tip and sleeve.

Also check to make sure that there is not a crack, rip or possible tear in the wires of question, that might be causing a direct ground short. Look at the hot wire and make sure the the attachment is still solid on the volume pot and ALL ground wires are correct as well before replacing the back and jack plate. javascript:zoom('http://static.zoovy.com/img/mailboxmusic/-/L/lp_style') Here is a link that will give you ALL the infor mation you will need to check out the WHOLE wiring configuration of your guitar. Please ignore the first link, for some reason it does not work. The second however is your schematic. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PROJECT !
