I own several solid-state Fender guitar amps, two of which have so much noise that you can hardly play them. All of my guitars are fully shielded & star-grounded, and they sound great through the Marshall, or my old tube Fender Princeton. Anybody have a good place to start looking for ground faults on a 2004 Fender Princeton (the 65-watt version) and an early-90's Fender Jam Chorus. I realize that these amps are a little cheesy, but they're mine, and I would like to use them from time-to-time. Any help woud be great. Can you download Schematics from Fender? Thanks, Gents, ;D

I have a solidstate Fender Frontman, it was once noisy, and I fixed it by connecting its casing directly to the Mother Earth. (simply because my room's wall outlet doesn't have a ground line).

noisy fender amps ....well 1st of all they do hum ! but make a good ground like Bam said and 2nd you can get a good power strip with a noise filter in it (they have them at guitar center ) thats what I did with may fender amps. it cut it down to almost nothing . also try to keep things like computer and tv away from the amp . sometime you can just plug it into a other wall outlet . ps I don't think that a 2004 Fender Princeton (the 65-watt version) and an early-90's Fender Jam Chorus are a little cheesy, they are very good amps .
