I want to eliminate my neck pickup tone knob. I always keep it rolled wide open when I use my neck pickup, and would like to remove the knob and move my volume knob to that hole (leaving an empty hole where the volume presently is). Could someone please provide me with a schematic or written instructions?

Greetings and welcome to the Nutzhouse. ;D First off, what kind of guitar do you have now? There will be other along with more knowledge of this then I, but they'll ask you the same thing first. IE: SSS or HSS or HSH or HH...you get the idea... Another question might be "Now that you have an empty spot, was there something else you'd like to do with it besides leaving it empty?" There are some very brilliant folks here that can answer virtually any question you could bring here. The only qualifier is the information you provide to assist them. Long and short of it is that the better question you ask the better answer you receive. Happy Trails Cynical One

haha! That info might help, huh?! Sorry... not sure where my brain was! I have a 1990 Fender Japanese Strat with Lace Holy Grails (single coil) in the three single-coil positions. I mainly use the bridge (most of the time) and neck pickups. I actually don't want to have anything in the present volume hole... it is a little too close to the strings to me, and I think moving it down to the present Tone Knob 1 postition will make life easier for me.

Sumgai did this, it seems to me, he posted a photo of his Strat with a metal button covering the hole a while back.
If you just want to eliminate the neck tone, you have to do 2 things- remove the wire to the tone pot, and dewire the tone cap. Since the cap is shared between the 2 tone pots, you'll have to carefully remove the end of it that's attached to the neck tone, and then attach it to ground from the mid tone pot.
If the wires are long enough, you may just be able to move the volume pot over to the new hole. If not, you'll need to extend the volume pot's wires, although it's probably better to just rewire it completely so you don't have a splice in the wires- one less connection to potentially go bad.
Actually, if the wires are long enough to move the volume pot over, you don't even need to remove the tone pot- just leave it as is, put a piece of tape on it to keep it wide open, and stick it in the cavity under the pickguard. This would also be easily reversible if needed.
EDIT:Oh, and I almost forgot:
