take your little amp and guitar with you to the park or lake (not in the lake ) LOL . all you need is a AC Power Inverter (20.00 to 30.00 buck ) very cool . I use a 240 watt Power Inverter for my 15 watt pv amp and a digitect rp50 stomp box . the amp needs 40 watt to run . the stomp box needs only 5 watts . so I ran a cord from the lighter to the trunk . I have the Power Inverter on the side of the trunk and keep my amp and guitar in there also . a 50 foot ex cord so I can get away from the car (because you have to have the car running to use the Power Inverter ) do not take your amp out of the trunk if it is wet out or put it on wet ground ! in fact I use a amp stand outside . also always take care with any amp outside . this is a good way to open up that amp and play with out someone telling you to turn it down .

at my highschool they had the bass player marching in the band. on a wooden wagon, they hooked a 200W(around that) 2x10 amp with a 1x15 extension cab up to a transformer with like 6 car batteries on it. it was sweet, but the best part was seeing 2 other people i knew who where forced to push the wagon down the road. that made me smile...

Nice, guys. Yeah. I'm single and loving it. It's more fun that way.
Anywho. I'd like to be able to play my bass on the go. I played it through a Marshal mini amp but got no volume out of it. How could I get the amp to crank out the volume? And it really didn't work to well on my low B.

no way i am carrying my 60 watt amp with me. the beast weights 20 kilos. and i haven't got a car anyway. rather take my acoustic guitar, it is always good sometimes to practize on .12 strings instead of .10

no way i am carrying my 60 watt amp with me. the beast weights 20 kilos. and i haven't got a car anyway. rather take my acoustic guitar, it is always good sometimes to practize on .12 strings instead of .10 there are a lot of extremely light weight, mid-sized amps out there for folks who would want to do the amp on the go thing. personally i think there's something a bit more intimate about outdoors and acoustic instruments, though. and there's no hiding behind distortion and effects either. (i was gonna draw a parallel to being naked, but decided not to.) guess there are a lot of pros and cons either way. must be kinda cool to live somewhere that you don't absolutely have to have a car. i drive about 160km (100mi for those of you on this side of the pond) round trip to work, and givin' up 2 hours of my life everyday just plain bites!

heh heh i live in one of biggest cities of germany, and in this country the mass transit system is quite good. the problem is though that i live nearly outside of the town almost in the woods and my working place is also outside of the town, but on the opposite side. so i also need about an hour (a bus and two metros).
the people living more inside the city are luckier, 15 minutes and they are fine.
ok back to the topic: acoustic guitars are just "sexier" outside. just imagine, woods, a fire, people around it, grilling meat and having fun, and of course an acoustic guitar
