finally got this together and it works! pnp germanium fuzzface with the hendrix (roger mayer) mods, as well as replacing the 2.2uF electrolytic cap with 4.7uF and the .01uF cap with .047uF (for better bass response). it's also true bypass gutshot: pretty lights! i'll post some sound clips when i get around to it this is my second build and i can't wait to get my next one (ampeg scrambler with a jfet boost) going! thanks be to flateric and gfxbass (not to mention the rest of the nutz!) for fueling my new addiction! 01.24.11 - ampeg scrambler + boost (fetzer valve, of course) gutshot need to lower the resistor on the purple LED so they're equally bright 02.14.11 - brian may treble booster gutshot (getting better with lead dress!) i set out to make a dallas rangemaster, but didn't feel like testing my Ge transistors to see which would work best, so i made the brian may treble booster instead used a 50k pot for the level and that gave this thing INSANE (but usable) gain!

surprisingly, no pop! also, how damn convenient is that pre-tinned, cloth-covered wire?! i need to find a good, cheap source to buy a bunch, because i LOVE not having to strip wires

i replaced the volume control with a fetzer valve boost (positive ground, of course): i recorded a real quick clip of the buffy theme song with my warmoth strat copy a 5e3 clone: www.soundclick.com/thetragicherofirst is clean, second is fuzz and volume at 12 o'clock, third is fuzz 12 o'clock volume dimed, fourth is fuzz and volume dimed (please excuse my terrible playing!) i have noticed some switch popping, so i'll have to add a pulldown resistor at some point

Tragic Hero,
Great job on the builds! I haven't been in a while due to some issues w/ my significant other, and and school starting back up.
I am always glad to help fuel someone else's(spelling doesn't look right) effect fire!
Have fun w/ the new pedals, I have been working on my own version of a "blast button" on an Ibanez AD-9. Along w/ working on doubling the delay time on the AD-9.

those are some really nice DIY pedals. i noticed that your perf boards were just sitting in there, are they like that constantly or are they bolted to the base plate when assembled?

they're just sitting in there i do have a bunch of standoffs, i just never use them (although i would if i made them for someone else)
