Anyone else tried this pedal, the Devi Ever Ruby? I have one and I don't like it much. It cuts a lot of the highs out and the bottom end is strange. I don't know the words to describe the sound but it's like the notes become broken, or chopped up.

is it an expensive pedal? if not, and it's not SMD components, why not open it up and see if you can shape the tone a bit?

I don't think it's expensive. I traded another pedal for it. I don't know what to change to be honest. Not sure what's doing what in there. Want to see a picture of the insides?

Devi Ever makes all different types of fuzz pedals. Many of them are specifically meant to sound pretty distinct and even maybe broken. From what I'm seeing she only made a limited run of those Rubys. The one that comes up on google is priced at 97.50.
I'd submit that you could probably sell it on eBay to someone who actually wants it and get yourself something else (maybe even a couple somethings) which you like better.
If you do decide to mod it, you should probably keep it on the down low. She's got some rabid fans out there who just might come looking to "modify" you!

Ashcatlt, Thanks for the tip about the possibility of myself being modified, doesn't sound very appealing at all. To be honest I'm not sure at all what I want to do with the thing. At first I was just running it at the start of my chain with the fuzz all the way down and turning up the volume some. The only other pedals I use are a Keeley Fuzzface and an Area 51 wah (thanks to my brother on that one). This set up had a neat tone and gave me a bit more sustain but on the whole I felt it was too much. I prefer to simply run the wah and fuzzface. Maybe I should sell the thing. There are a few fellows around here that are into the newer styles of Rock and maybe they would like something like this. Eh, thanks again fellows. P.S. Anyone want to buy a Devi Ever Ruby?

Do an appropriate sales pitch, w/ pix, in The Hock Shop and see who bites. Worked for me, I convinced a certain tragic fellow to take my rack gear off my hands . . . ;D ;D
