Doing up an old strat copy. Have blocked the trem cavity to fit a hard tail. Got the x2 humbuckers (tonerider generator), the 3 way strat switch, now thinking about the wiring...
I think I'll go 1 vol, 2 tone with the switch doing a standard N/NB/B.
Previously I've only wired a standard strat 5 way and a tele 5 way - that's about the limit of my electronic experience.
Could someone point me in the direction of a diagram (el basic'o), pots (I assume 250K linear/audio) and Caps?
I can see the level of detail some of you gurus get to in this forum (impressive)....so I am really just looking for the heavy metal sound in the structure described above (without going into wild and wacky wiring inventions)...well not yet anyway! Thanks

bjsa06- Hello and Welcome to Gnutz 2! Yew has directed you on the right track, except that his (errr, SD's) diagram uses a Gibson type 3-way toggle switch and you're using a Fender-style 3-way lever switch. The wiring for the lever switch will be slightly different. First question is what type of lever switch you have? See Offshore Lever Switches Is yours like the import type shown there? Or like the std. type?

OK, this will do it, although there are several other ways to do this with the lever switch. You could also use the second pole of the switch to select between the tone controls (wiring the controls off of the switch rather than wiring the switch off of the controls, as I show it here. I have depicted the lugs for a sort of generic 3-way lever switch, yours may be different. You should check your switch to see that yours corresponds with the diagram. You'll need a multimeter to check the switch if the common lugs are not marked on the switch or otherwise obvious. You will also have to correlate your wire colors with the SD wire colors on the diagram. Note that I cut off the output jack at the bottom- no worries, its wiring doesn't change.
